“ I liked the coffee here - got a latte (no sugar, almond milk) and the texture was really smooth. The pan de Bono was yummy. Waffles were a little dry - wish they gave syrup. The height of the tables and the sofa don't make too much sense. The table height is too tall for the sofa. But the ambience was nice - not too loud and not too busy. Would come back! ”
“ The staff is so lovely here. Any one who has ever helped take my order has treated me like family, and their drinks have a fabulous flavor. 10/10 would recommend. ”
“ Yummy place I tried out for the first time! Such soft bread and waffles that are evenly baked. I didn't feel stuffed so was perfect portion size. I loved the coquito drink too and that is my new favorite drink. Was nice and quiet atmosphere to get work done. I recommend 10/10. ”
“ Absolutely LOVE this cafe. The vibes are great for working or for hanging out with friends. They also have monthly events here for the community which I think is unique and wish more places did. My favorite food here is the chicken wrap- I don't know what the dressing is, but it's delicious and big enough to share. And my favorite drink by far is the iced coquito latte. It's so incredible. If you haven't yet, you definitely need to check this place out. ”
“ This cute little cafe in the heart of Hackensack definitely caught me by surprise. I needed a place to get some work done outside of the house and this popped up and I instantly drove there. Parking was easy being that there is metered parking throughout the area. The cafe had people come in and out and was extremely spacious. I had one of their pan de bonos that was made fresh and a Milo latte which reminded me of my childhood. The decor within the establishment is very cultural and gives off a true authentic feel. The music was also such a vibe with extremely friendly staff. My favorite part of the entire place had to be the domino table they had set up for people to play. I felt like I was instantly transported back to the Caribbean and felt very at home. ”
“ Hackensack, NJ // Came here in January. Still fairly new and not everything on the menu was available but what was were all amazing and delicious! Price 5/5: Fair. Service 5/5: Awesome. Owner was friendly and accommodating. Ambience 5/5: Aesthetically quaint. Almost wish it was bigger to accommodate more seating Will definitely be back. I still think about that pandebono waffles ”
“ Marimba Café is absolutely to die for! Their small treats are so tasty and they have the nicest people every working here! From the owner to the baristas, everybody is so nice! Their decor is also super cool. Feels almost like you're in Puerto Rico. I would definitely recommend their pastelillos and their fresh juices! Their waffles are also super tasty! My favorite part about Marimba is all the different events they do throughout the month. La Placita Sundays is my absolute favorite, as they bring in different small vendors for you to shop! Such a cool place overall!! ”
“ I was back in my hometown for a short trip and wanted to work remote from a cafe. I did a quick Yelp search and stumbled across Marimba Cafe - the new name caught my eye and the aesthetics and offerings here solidified my decision. I don't think I've ever come across a sit down Latin cafe here in Bergen County so to me, since moving away, it's the first of its kind. Also first of its kind to proudly offer CBD infused menu items. I believe they just opened in November! The vibes in here are immaculate. My favorite feature is the stone floor - it just transports you somewhere new! The color scheme in here is also appealing, and the Latin music made me want to dance while I took on meetings haha. Overall, really solid branding and concept. Since I was working west coast hours, I spent the whole afternoon into close here. It's a really great place to work as there were other people working remote. They have comfortable seating and outlets conveniently located along the booth. I will say though that the booth seating was just a tad too high for the table so it took some time getting used to. Also, they do play the music fairly loud (a must) in here so it can be a tad distracting if you're taking meetings and have to speak. Since I stayed here for over 5 hours, I was able to observe the sense of community Marimba has fostered - they greet customers like friends! I also saw on their Instagram that they host community events like paint nights and dance nights and support other local businesses with their La Placita Sundays. I love everything this business is about. I ordered the coquito latte hot and a pan de bono. The latte was solid and I wish the pan de bono was just a bit bigger! I would love to try more here. Congrats to the owners of Marimba, I wish the cafe tons of business and success! I definitely want to visit again when I'm back in town. ”
“ This is a perfect spot to catch up with friends or get some work done! I loved the comfy seats and the spacious area! I also loved the aesthetics and the greenery! I ordered a refreshing mango smoothie and my friend ordered a coffee and both were really good! My favorite was the Waffle Bono which is this cheesey, cheewy waffle!! They were soooo good especially with the caramel drizzle! Definitely recommend this snack if you get a chance to stop by! ”
“ Overall a great experience and lovely place to eat! The aesthetic is awesome and authentically Latino (Puerto Rican and Colombian to be specific). The staff is is courteous, helpful, and will gladly walk through the food menu and CBD options with you- which is great is you're looking to try new things, whether it be a type of cuisine or CBD infused products. But the food itself- OH. MY. GOODNESS. The Coquito Latte is genuinely one of the best hot beverages I've had in this lifetime. I know that sounds dramatic and that's how serious I am! The Waffle Bono was one of the best and creative takes I've had on pan de bono, and the dulce de leche drizzled on top only makes you want more. We also had the Milo Latte and various pastries which were delicious. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! ”
